Reaffirming its commitment as a true Kaagapay, Bell-Kenz Pharma donated essential medicines in February to Victoriano Luna General Hospital and Quezon City General Hospital—strengthening the shared mission of delivering timely and compassionate healthcare to Filipino patients, especially those who serve the nation.
The Department of Internal Medicine at Victoriano Luna General Hospital received Cefepime-Tazobactam, a critical broad-spectrum antibiotic used in the management of serious and life-threatening infections. The donation directly supports the hospital’s capacity to respond swiftly to complex infectious cases among active-duty soldiers and their dependents.
CPT Nari Anne Patricia Vera Cruz, MC, 4th Year Internal Medicine Resident, underscored the importance of immediate access to “potent, evidence-based antibiotics.” “In severe infections, the first 24 to 48 hours are often decisive,” she shared. “Having strong antibiotics readily available allows us to initiate life-saving treatment without delay while awaiting laboratory culture results. In many cases, those crucial first hours spell the difference between recovery and complication.

Beyond enabling urgent treatment, the donation strengthens the hospital’s antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. As infectious diseases evolve and antibiotic resistance continues to rise, healthcare institutions must balance rapid intervention with responsible prescribing practices. Access to broad-spectrum antibiotics such as Cefepime-Tazobactam allows physicians to begin comprehensive therapy when clinically necessary and de-escalate treatment once laboratory findings are available—protecting both current patients and the future effectiveness of antibiotics.
The primary beneficiaries of the donation are active-duty soldiers and their immediate families—individuals who dedicate their lives to national defense and whose loved ones quietly share in that sacrifice. By helping ensure uninterrupted access to essential medicines, Bell-Kenz Pharma, Inc. eases the financial burden of hospitalization and strengthens the quality of care provided within the military healthcare system.
Hospitals today face increasingly complex infections and more resistant organisms than ever before. Reliable access to appropriate antibiotics remain critical to sustaining strong antimicrobial stewardship programs and ensuring continuous patient care. Partnerships such as this enhance institutional capacity, enabling healthcare professionals to focus fully on healing without concern for supply gaps.
In a message of gratitude, the Department of Internal Medicine and the entire Victoriano Luna General Hospital community thanked Bell-Kenz Pharma, Inc., emphasizing that every vial donated represents an opportunity to treat serious infections promptly and responsibly.

For Ms. Melanie Arugay, Hospital National Sales Manager, the initiative reflects the company’s core identity. “Bell-Kenz is committed to making lives better,” she said. “Our mission is carried out with unity, strong moral principles, and a deep sense of responsibility. We take pride in fostering a nurturing and empowering culture grounded in genuine care and compassion.”
Through meaningful collaborations with healthcare institutions, Bell-Kenz Pharma. continues to live its promise as Kaagapay sa Kalusugan, ensuring that healing reaches those who need it most and that every partnership is guided by purpose, integrity, and service.
