Every child deserves a space where they feel safe, valued, and hopeful. For many, the Bahay at Yaman ni San Martin de Porres, Inc. in Bulacan has always been that second home—built entirely on compassion, guidance, and second chances.
Now home to over 150 children, the BYSMP St. Martin has for years dedicated itself to caring for street and abandoned children, providing not only shelter but also education, emotional support, and spiritual formation. It is a place where children who have experienced hardship are given the opportunity to rediscover their worth and build a future filled with hope.
But like many institutions that rely on the generosity of others, sustaining daily operations has always been a challenge. One of the center's biggest burdens was the continuously rising cost of electricity—a necessity that powers classrooms, lights dormitories, keeps fans running during hot days, and allows the children to study at night.
Recognizing this need, Bell-Kenz Pharma has stepped forward extending support intended to create a lasting impact beyond a single donation.
Bell-Kenz Pharma Foundation recently sponsored the installation of solar panels, providing BYSMP St. Martin with a sustainable source of electricity. By introducing renewable energy, the initiative helped reduce the institution's electricity expenses by approximately 30%, allowing valuable resources to be redirected toward the children's education, nutrition, healthcare, and other daily needs.
What may seem like a simple infrastructure project has become a meaningful investment in the lives of over 150 children. Every peso saved on electricity can now help provide school supplies, healthier meals, better facilities, and programs that nurture their emotional and personal growth.
For the children, brighter classrooms mean more opportunities to learn. Well-lit dormitories provide comfort and security. Reliable electricity supports an environment where they can continue dreaming, studying, and preparing for a better tomorrow.
The initiative also reflects a shared commitment to environmental sustainability. By harnessing clean and renewable energy, Bell-Kenz Pharma Foundation and the Bulacan Volunteer Doctors have demonstrated that caring for communities also means caring for the world these children will inherit.
As a Kaagapay sa Kalinga, Bell-Kenz believes that genuine care is not measured by the size of a donation, but by the lives it transforms. Sometimes, changing a future begins with something as simple as keeping the lights on—giving children the opportunity to learn a little longer, dream a little bigger, and wake up each day believing that tomorrow will be brighter than today.
Because every child deserves more than a second chance—they deserve a future filled with hope. And through acts of compassion that create lasting change, Bell-Kenz remains a true Kaagapay, lighting the way toward that brighter tomorrow.
