Emergencies rarely come with a warning. A sudden cardiac arrest can happen in a classroom, office, or public space, and in those critical first few minutes, the people nearby often become the person's greatest chance of survival.
With this in mind, Bell-Kenz, through its Sagip CPR Program, partnered with the Makati Medical Center Foundation to bring hands-on CPR and emergency response training to the Far Eastern University (FEU) community. Students, faculty, and staff learned essential lifesaving skills that could one day help save the life of a classmate, colleague, friend, or even a family member.
For many participants, the training was an eye-opening experience. They discovered that effective CPR is more than just chest compressions—it is about maintaining blood flow and oxygen to the brain during those crucial moments before professional medical responders arrive. More importantly, they left with the confidence that anyone, regardless of profession, can make a life-saving difference when properly trained.
The initiative reflects the shared commitment of Bell-Kenz and the Makati Medical Center Foundation to make healthcare more accessible through education and community empowerment.

"We care for our carers, we help our helpers, and through partnerships like this, we can reach more communities and save more lives," shared Marge Macasaet-Barro, Executive Director of Makati Medical Center Foundation, as she expressed gratitude to Bell-Kenz for making lifesaving education accessible to more Filipinos.
Echoing this commitment, Jeremy Pajarillo of Makati Medical Center Operations Division emphasized that creating inclusive healthcare goes beyond hospital walls. By bringing free CPR training to schools and communities, more individuals are empowered with the knowledge and confidence to respond during emergencies.
For participants like Kristin Keira C. Daniel, a student intern (OJT) at Makati Medical Center, the training reinforced that CPR is a practical skill everyone should learn. Understanding how continuous blood flow protects the brain during cardiac arrest made her realize that these lifesaving techniques are valuable not only inside schools but in every community across the country.

Reaffirming Bell-Kenz's mission, Patrick S. Larraga, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Head of Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc., said, "Every Filipino deserves the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills. Through Sagip CPR, we are empowering communities with the knowledge, confidence, and readiness to act when every second matters."
Bell-Kenz as Kaagapay sa Kalusugan, continues to champion the Sagip CPR Program demonstrating that saving lives begins long before an ambulance arrives. A healthier life begins with informed communities, empowered individuals, and partnerships committed to ensuring that when emergencies happen, more Filipinos are ready to respond.
Lifesaving skills are among the greatest gifts we can share—because one trained individual can one day become someone's second chance at life..
