Bell-Kenz Pharma Bolsters Workplace Defenses as Disaster Risks Persist

In its push to safeguard the people who run the institution, three Bell-Kenz Pharma employees participated in the Basic Incident Command System (BICS) Training from October 19 to 21 at Manila Science High School. The training integrates innovation into the company’s disaster preparedness and workplace safety mechanisms.
Representing the company were Allan Gayo, Head of the Security and Safety Office; Paolo Hidalgo, Warehouse Operations Personnel; and Jizzan Mission, Logistics Personnel.

Conducted by the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense – National Capital Region, the training equipped the employees with the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to apply Basic Incident Command System (ICS) concepts and principles during disasters.
The ICS promotes a uniform approach to managing incidents across organizations, helping establish clear roles, coordinate personnel, and organize resources according to the crucial demands of an emergency. The training provided a structured framework for organizational staffing, incident assessment, resource management, and incident planning.

Participants engaged in developing Incident Action Plans, operational briefing return demonstrations, and discussions on transfer of command, demobilization, and close-out procedures.
For Bell-Kenz Pharma, participation in this program supports efforts to build preparedness across its security, safety, warehouse, and logistics functions—and ultimately, throughout the entire organization. The knowledge gained will contribute to a more coordinated emergency response and a safer working environment for all stakeholders.
