KAAGAPAY SA KALUSUGAN: Extending a Helping Hand to Aeta Communities in Porac Through A Mission Of Care

For many underserved communities, healthcare is not always within easy reach, especially when they are located in upland areas such as Barangay Camias in Porac, Pampanga.

Yet, when communities gather for a mission dedicated to bringing healthcare within every Filipino’s reach, even the tallest mountains cannot deter them from delivering meaningful work.

Living up to its word as a Kaagapay, Bell-Kenz Pharma supported the Philippine Air Force (PAF) Reserve Unit's medical mission last July 11, gathering healthcare professionals, military personnel, brand partners, and volunteers to respond to Barangay Camias’ immediate health needs, fulfilling its mission of making Filipino lives better.

Throughout the activity, Aeta residents received medical consultations, essential medicines, and practical health information. Beyond providing treatment, the volunteers promoted preventive care to help families better understand and protect their health beyond the one-day mission.

Leading Bell-Kenz Pharma’s participation in the mission were Sgt. Jamelene Tinsay and Sales Manager Jam Hoceña, together with Sales Representatives Karvin Blasco and Grace Francisco, who worked alongside healthcare professionals, military personnel, and volunteers to bring essential health services to Aeta families.

The mission demonstrated how healthcare can extend beyond hospitals and clinics. By bringing services closer to indigenous families, the initiative helped address immediate needs whilst drawing attention to the continuing importance of accessible and inclusive healthcare.

For Bell-Kenz Pharma, the activity formed part of its broader commitment to supporting community-based health programmes, particularly those serving underserved populations. Its partnership with the PAF and RG Meditron also underscored the role of public-private collaboration in reaching communities that conventional healthcare services may not always readily cover.

More than the medicines distributed or consultations conducted, the Porac mission was ultimately about making people feel seen and cared for.

A single day of service may not close every healthcare gap. But for the families in Barangay Camias, it offered access to medical attention, strengthened health awareness, and served as a reminder that they had not been forgotten.

The multi-sectoral initiative showed that meaningful change often begins by meeting communities where they are—with care, respect, and a willingness to serve.
